Choir and crypt, monastery church, Goseck castle
Goseck was the ancestral seat of the counts palatine of Saxony, and was first documented back in 892.
The first stones of the monastery were laid in 1046. It was consecrated by Adalbert of Bremen in 1053. New buildings were added and existing ones altered in the 17th century. In 2007, the 17th century additions in the Romanesque crypt were removed.
