Catholic university church of St Peter of Magdeburg
St. Peters church (1185) was built in the fishing village of Frose, and was originally outside the town of Magdeburg.
The tower house dates from the 12th century, and the hall church from the 14th. The large multi-part lancet windows in the choir are particularly interesting. The gables arranged across the side bays are typical of Magdeburgs mediaeval churches. The Madonna with child in the side chapel is a limewood carving from 1480. Immediately adjacent to the church is the chapel of Mary Magdalene.
