Wanzleben castle
Wanzleben castle is one of the largest lowland castles in Europe. It was first documented in 896. The keep is 30 m high and dates from the 10th century.
In the early 18th century, following the end of the 30 Years War, the castle became the demesne of Wanzleben. A descendant of the last administrator of Wanzleben began the task of saving the buildings from dilapidation in 1993.
